Alex is an award-winning filmmaker from Cardiff, South Wales. He began making films in 2014, when he co-wrote & produced the comedy short 'Chant', which went on to win the Audience Choice Award at Cardiff Mini Film Festival the following year. Around that time he also started directing music videos for bands in South Wales, garnering hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube over the next few years, as well as having his work featured in Noisey, Vice, The Guardian, NME and MTV.
In 2016 he was selected as a director for a BBC-funded filmmaking initiative, after which he continued his freelance commercial work until 2019. In 2020 he wrote and directed his first short film, 'Strange Days'; the following year he wrote and directed the neo-noir short film 'True Crime'. In late 2022 he wrote and directed 'Bad Soil’, a nine minute neo-Western crime thriller, which won ‘Best Short Film Made in Wales’ at Carmarthen Bay Film Festival, and was selected for screening at Newport Beach Film Festival California, amongst others.
Alex is based between London & Cardiff, and is in pre-production on his first indie feature-length.
